Alberta’s public health plan (AHCIP) doesn’t provide basic coverage for prescriptions, dental visits, or eye exams and glasses, leaving many people at risk.
Therapies or Ambulance Fees
Services such as physiotherapy, massage therapy, and chiropractic services are not covered fully. Even ambulance rides can sometimes have unknown fees.
Travel Outside Alberta
If you are travelling outside of Alberta or Canada, emergency health coverage is not guaranteed. AHCIP does not cover the costs of emergency medical care.
